MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Sistema Toronto is a free after-school music and social development program for children living in vulnerable communities with the end goal of transformative social change.
My role:
Create marketing materials and collateral in-house, or when needed, coordinate design and/or production with external contractors.
Develop and implements social media strategy; including but not limited to creating, recording, writing and posting content for over 5,000+ total followers. Have increased Instagram following by 32% in one year period.
Create website content and handle maintenance and updates.
Write press releases and PR materials related to Sistema concerts and events, fundraising initiatives, earned media campaigns, etc. Coordinates all interviews.
Responsible for copywriting of email marketing and direct mail campaigns, including quarterly newsletter.
Write and pitch sponsorship proposals and ensure execution and reporting.
Plan the annual Sistema Spirit Gala and other fundraising events.
PROGRAM & MARKETING COORDINATOR

The Canadian Independent Music Association is the not-for-profit national trade association representing the English-language, Canadian-owned sector of the music industry.
My role:
Coordinated, promoted and executed events (panels, workshops, networking mixers, and showcases); assisted in the planning and marketing of over 100 events in a 2-year period, and increased attendee numbers on average by 233.33%.
Coordinated the marketing strategy for CIMA and MusicOntario; creating and coordinating graphics, updating websites, social media, and monthly newsletter. Steadily increased social media presence and following (achieved a 45% increase in likes on the CIMA Facebook page over a 2-year period), lead a successful Twitter campaign (#SupportCDNmusic) to increase federal funding for the music industry (via Canada Music Fund), and ran various paid advertising campaigns.
Planned and executed CIMA’s annual Celebration & Awards Gala for 200-250 music industry attendees.
Contributed to business plan and strategy development, and assisted with funding applications to the Ontario Arts Council, Ontario Music Fund and Canada Music Fund. Prepared post-event surveys, collated data and testimonials, and assisted with reporting and evaluation.
PROGRAM ASSISTANT - MUSIC & ARTS

University Settlement helps individuals and families to learn and grow by engaging them in social, cultural, recreational and educational opportunities. The Music & Arts School provides affordable, quality programs to children, teens, adults and seniors from the Greater Toronto Area.

My role:
Provided administrative support to the Managing Director to ensure the smooth running of the program.
Handled client registrations, managed scheduling, assisted with planning of concerts, maintained partnerships with key contacts (Roy Thomson Hall, Canadian Opera Company, Esprit Orchestra etc.).
Undertook marketing and social media tasks; created newsletters, flyers, posters, concert programs, and social media content.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - ROYALTIES

Entertainment One specializes in the development, acquisition, production, financing, distribution and sales of entertainment content. I collated, reviewed and edited outbound royalty reports and updated report tracking spreadsheets.
PROGRAM COORDINATOR - AYRSHIRE YOUTH ARTS NETWORK
July 2014 - September 2015
The Ayrshire Youth Arts Network is a youth-led arts initiative working to enrich young people’s lives through the arts and creative programming. I developed and coordinated a new youth arts funding scheme and worked closely with successful applicants in project planning across all art forms (music, theatre, visual art etc.). I also coordinated brand development, creation and acquisition of promotional materials, and developed and implemented the marketing strategy.
